About this product
The Ben Hogan Apex Plus Forged Iron Set is a right-handed set of irons with stiff flex steel shafts. The set includes clubs from 2-iron to pitching wedge (2-PW), totaling 9 clubs. The 5-iron measures 38 inches, and the set comes with new ALTR Golf Tour Velvet grips. These irons feature carbon steel heads and are designed for men.
Our take
From a budget perspective, this set offers a lot: nine forged irons with new grips at a reasonable price. The stiff flex steel shafts are suited for stronger players, and the 2-PW range provides a complete set. The carbon steel heads offer a soft feel, a hallmark of Hogan irons. However, the stiff shafts may be too demanding for average golfers, and the 2-iron is a challenge for many. The lack of a gap wedge means you'll need to purchase one separately. For the price, it's a solid value for a low-handicap player who wants a full set of forged irons without spending a fortune.
